Message I have a motor that has been sitting for about ~1 yr. I checked the cam shafts and crank shaft and nothing appeared to have any rust or visible damage.

What is the best way to safely turn the engine back on for the first time during a normal start up?

I can rotate it by hand of course, which would hopefully get some of the oil through the turbos (I don't know for sure), but what about the camshafts under the valve covers? I'd prefer not to take them off again just to pour oil on them. I can put some drops into the cylinders through the spark plugs. Regardless, I can't turn the engine over by hand fast enough to probably get the oil shooting up through the squirters and coating the camshafts.

My only other option was to first turn the car over with the fuel relay pulled, so that the battery is cranking it over at a low RPM.

Any thoughts?
